Gloria L. Cioffi, 91, formerly of Everett, returned to her heavenly home on Oct. 12, 2018 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Gloria lived at Cardinal Cushing residence in Hanover for 25 years. She worked at Almy’s and Macy’s department stores for most of her life until she retired. She loved to sew, knit and crochet and made her own clothing as well as for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and she was involved in the Council on Aging and many other organizations where she lived. Gloria was born in Everett to the late Paolo and Giulia Cioffi and grew up in a large, loving family with 5 brothers and 4 sisters; she was the loving mother of the late Joan Tammaro and son-in-law Frank, Deborah DePasqua and son-in-law Dennis, David Tammaro and daughter-in-law Faith Machado, and the late Gloria “Beana” Tammaro; and grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 6 whom she adored; and an aunt of several nieces and nephews. All are welcome to memorial calling hours Sat. Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. memorial service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St. West Bridgewater MA 02379 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
