Ernest W. Edwards

Ernest W. Edwards, 84, a lifelong resident of Avon, died August 7, 2018. He was a 1951 graduate of Avon High School. Ernest attended DeVry Institute of Technology and then served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He was a special operations manager for General Electric and Honeywell, and had done further work in Italy with Honeywell Italia, installing the first time sharing equipment there. A past member of Avon Grange, he enjoyed sailing, bowling, and senior center activities. He was kind and loving, and had taken care of many friends. Ernest was the beloved brother of Joan Hamilton of Virginia Beach, Priscilla Whittall (and Paul) of Avon and FL, Terry Edwards (and Katherine) of Avon, Deborah Sheridan (and Cathleen Frazier) of Avon, and the late Wayne Edwards; loving uncle of several generations of nieces and nephews; and close friend of the late Peg Meninno. All are welcome to his funeral service Saturday, Aug. 11th at 3 p.m. in Avon Baptist Church, 119 N. Main St, Avon. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Avon Baptist Church, 119 N. Main St., Avon, MA 02322.
