Ernest D. Calloway

Ernest D. Calloway, 93, of Brockton, passed away on June 9, 2019. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Richardson) Calloway. Ernie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had worked for Bullock Funeral Home in Boston for many years, and had also worked for the MBTA and Domino Sugar. Ernest was the husband of the late Rita Mae (Hicks) Calloway; father of Clayton Rollins and his wife Sheila (and their children Ian Rollins, Kiana Rollins, Desire Glover and Chasity Correia), Emily Calloway, Mary Calloway, Margaret Calloway and Ernest Calloway Jr.; stepfather of Ernest Wheeler, Larry Wheeler, Martha Lattimore, Willie Earl Wheeler, Barbara Wheeler, and the late Ophelia Wheeler Green, Joe Nathan Wheeler and Howard Wheeler. He also loves many additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All are welcome to gather in procession on Monday, June 17th at 11 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, for a 12:45 p.m. committal service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
