Earl Garner, 69, of Brockton, passed away on May 17, 2018. Earl was born on September 29, 1948 in Boston, Mass to the late Julia Garner. When Earl’s Mother passed he then went to live in Queens, New York with his Aunt Ellen Robinson who raised him as if he was her own. As a teenager Earl fell in love with his high school sweetheart Linda Sue Jackson who he married and had three beautiful daughters. They later divorced and Earl moved back to Boston to peruse a better life. Earl remarried to the late Tina LaChance in which they had three handsome sons. Earl graduated from John Adams High School in New York. Earl worked for Medfield State Hospital and then eventually retired from Shattuck Lemuel Hospital where he was a mental health counselor. Earl provided assistance and counseling with residence that needed help with handling day to day tasks which brought him great joy. Earl leaves behind a beloved Sister Joyce Isador and a Brother Yusuf Ali. Earl was a devoted Father to Ruby Ann Cash, Vanessa Robinson, Tonya Robinson, Corey Bonds, Earl Bradley Garner, Evyn James Garner, Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Earl enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren, playing chess with anyone who was prepared to lose, dressing to a ”T”, and listening to music in which he would often break out into dance. Earl had a heart of gold and brought a smile to those around him whether you knew him for twenty years or two minutes. Earl’s heart was filled with love and he had a passion for helping others and would not hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. Earl was welcomed with open arms and will be deeply missed by all. All are welcome to gather on Friday, May 25th at 11 a.m., for a 12 noon service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton and burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
