Earl Gardner Buker

Earl G. Buker, 96, of Sweden, Maine, passed away peacefully Sept. 14, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, Maine. A son of the late Ethel (King) and Charles Buker, he was a native of Braintree who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Earl enjoyed a rich life of traveling, gardening on the farm in Brockton, spending summers at the lake in Sweden, Maine, all with his beloved wife, Jeanne. Earl served as an electrical engineer at The Boston Symphony Orchestra for twenty years where he relished in the opportunity to bring his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to meet Arthur Fiedler, Keith Lockhart, and others. In his later years, Earl set up acoustics at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison, Maine while spending the summer at Sterns Pond. Upon retirement in 1988, Earl wintered in Florida, hunted in Maine, enjoyed worldwide travel, and his daily stock market trading. Earl was the husband of the late Jeanne E. (O’Leary) Buker; beloved father of Steven Buker (and Angela) of Bridgton, Maine, Jeannine White (and John) of Wells, Maine, Dana Michael Buker (and Paula) of Dacula, Georgia, Katherine Whipple (and Everett) of Georgia, John Buker (and Monique) of Brockton, Massachusetts, Ann-Marie Buker of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Sharon Buker Tully of Brockton, Massachusetts; brother of Viola Cobb of Georgia and the late Lloyd Buker; grandfather of Erik and Franz Buker, John “Jay” White (and Jessica), Alisa Karwowski (and Timothy), Kate McClure (and Patrick Morris); Lauren Lennahan (and Michael), Ashley Pepitone (and Joseph), Allison Buker (and Jake), Victoria Santos (and Kevin), Alexandra Whipple, Dr. MaryAnn Wilbur (and Scott), Robert Buker, Kristyn, Jillian, Rebecca (and Cole) and Michael Tully. He was the great-grandfather of twenty-one.
