Delores M. (Pitcher) Carlson, 82, of Avon, passed away September 2, 2017. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School. Delores had worked at New England Telephone for many years, and later at Shaw’s Supermarket until her retirement. She enjoyed the beach, crosswords, gardening and traveling, she especially liked taking cruises. Delores was the beloved mother of Scott Carlson of Florida, Deborah (Carlson) Currie of Taunton, Gregory Carlson of Tennessee and the late Brenda Carroll; loving grandmother of Meagan Carroll of Avon, William Currie of Brockton, Kristina Currie of Taunton, Lavina Currie of NH, Jillian Carlson of Brockton, Erik Carlson of Brockton, McKayla Murphy of Brockton, Noelle Carlson of NY and Nicholas Carlson of NY; great-grandmother of Anthony, Keira, Kaitlyn, William and Emma; sister of Barbara Rand and Jerry Hartnett; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Saturday 12-3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private Committal.
