David W. Rubeski, 72, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away July 24, 2017. Son of the late Genevieve and William Rubeski, he served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne in the Vietnam War and was a Brockton firefighter for 29 years. Dave enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and going to the gym and the dog track. He was the beloved companion of Ann-Marie Polk for 30 years; loving father of Lt. Scott Rubeski, B.F.D. and his wife Kim of Marshfield, Mark Rubeski and his wife Christine of Brockton, Holly Shea and Kimberly Morales; grandfather of Matthew, Steven, Shealy, Josef, Jacob, Thomas, Darren, Gillian, Michael and Robert; great-grandfather of Thomas; brother of the late Judy Prouty; and uncle of Kim and David. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. from Waitt funeral Home, funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and committal at 1:15 p.m. at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
