Catalino Acevedo, 79, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, he was the devoted husband of Aura V. Acevedo for 55 years. Catalino was a member of Iglesia de Dios Cristo Rey in Boston. He loved animals and breeding chickens, and enjoyed playing the Puerto Rican cuatro guitar. Catalino was the beloved father of Marisol Yac of New Bedford, Luz Nery Rodriguez of FL, Magdalena Sumner of FL, William Acevedo of Brockton and Wilma Young of Taunton; loving brother of Eufemia Molina of New Bedford and Rosa Valentin, Asucion Acevedo and Miguel Acevedo, all of Puerto Rico; and a dear grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle of many. All are welcome to calling hours Monday, Dec. 18th from 6-9 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
