Barbara E. (Morey) (Frankio) Munies, 73, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away Sept. 12, 2017. A daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Morey, she was a 1962 graduate of Brockton High School. After a career in banking for over 30 years, she was retired from Sovereign Bank as a commercial loan officer. She enjoyed staying in touch with her friends and family, but most of all, spending time with her great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were reading and taking care of her plants. Barbara will also be remembered for her dry sense of humor. Barbara was the beloved mother of Dennis Frankio (and his wife Vilma) of Centerville and Laurie Wells of Brockton; loving grandmother of Erica Luongo (and her husband Michael) of Wilmington and Mitchell Gauvin of New Bedford; great-grandmother of Ayden and Madison Luongo; sister of Kathy McKernan and Dennis Morey. Following cremation, all are welcome to memorial calling hours Monday (Sept. 18) 4-6 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Heart Association.
