Christine M. (Carey) Ford

Christine M. (Carey) Ford, 76, of Brockton, passed away on April 15, 2024. A native of Jamaica Plain, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Margaret (Hamilton) Carey. A 1964 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she went on to have a lengthy career in nursing spanning over 50 years. Chris worked at Goddard Hospital from 1973 until 1991 then went on to be an assistant director of nursing at various facilities. She was a hands-on nurse who advocated for others. Chris enjoyed frequent trips to The Irish Village down the Cape with her family and loved playing bingo and Candy Crush.

Christine was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Ford for 50 years until his passing last September; loving mother of Robert C. Ford and Maureen Joyce and her husband Mark; cherished grandmother of Mark Joyce Jr. and Kasey Joyce, all of Plymouth; sister of Patricia Dennehy of Dedham and the late Gerard Carey; and an aunt of Kathleen Sullivan of Weymouth and Steven Dennehy of Pawtucket, R.I. She also leaves her close circle of friends, whom she loved dearly.

All are welcome to calling hours Tues., April 23rd from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Wed., April 24th at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Parish at 10:30 a.m. and committal at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
