Theresa (Powers) Pagliuca, 68, of Brockton, died July 1, 2009. A native of Everett, she was a homemaker residing mostly in Malden. For the past 5 years she lived at Belair Towers in Brockton where she enjoyed bingo. Theresa was the widow of Michael Pagliuca, beloved mother of Jacqueline LeMieux of Everett, Michelle Sergio of Brockton, Harold D’Eon of Everett, Janine Vacca of Brockton, Renee Allen of Brockton, Michael Pagliuca of NH and the late Paul Pagliuca, grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 9, sister of Rosanne Sullivan and Ethel Sinatra, both of Everett, and an aunt of many.  Richard J. Rollins, of Brockton, died June 25, 2009 after 82 years of service to his family and to society. A son of the late William and Hattie (Wheaton) Rollins, he was a WWII Navy Veteran with service in the Mediterranean. His working life spanned several occupations, from the Family Dairy Farm in Easton during the 1940s and 1950s, to a career of being both a ship’s and licensed electrician over the last three decades. He was nonjudgmental of all those he knew, and a true friend to each. Richard was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Melanson) Rollins, loving father of Nancy Baril and her husband Donald of Maine, Richard M. Rollins of Arizona, Kathleen LaShare and her husband Gregg of Louisiana, Lisa Milligan and her husband Michael of Brockton, and Scott Weyant and his wife Darlene of Taunton, brother of the late William Rollins and Virginia Davison, dear grandfather of 11 and the great grandfather of 15.  Daniel A. Harris, 69, of Brockton, died June 21, 2009. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late William and Julia (East) Harris. He loved being with his family and enjoyed fishing and crossword puzzles. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and a maintenance mechanic at West Acres Nursing Home before retiring in 2002.  Richard M. Stoddard, 86, of Brockton, died June 21, 2009. A native of Brockton, he resided in Whitman for 37 years before returning back to Brockton. A graduate of Brockton High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Richard was an accountant at Knapp Shoe for many years and retired at the age of 65. He worked part-time at McDonald’s in Stoughton and also prepared tax returns. Richard was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed bowling at Maple Alleys. He also enjoyed golfing in his earlier years and visiting the YMCA in E. Bridgewater. Richard was the beloved husband of Florence (Colarusso) Stoddard, loving father of Judy Bachman (and Lynn) of N. Frederick W. “Fred” Manley III, of Abington, died June 9, 2009. Native of Roxbury, a son of the late Frederick W. and Eva H. (Rowland) Manley Jr., he resided on the South Shore and then in Abington for the past 14 years. Fred was employed by Burgess Mayflower Movers in Randolph for 20 years, USM Corporation in Whitman for 8 years and by YCN Transportation for the past 4 years. Mary E. (Caldwell) Crowley, 88, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died June 10, 2009 at Life Care Center of Attleboro after a lengthy illness. She the wife of the late Richard W. Crowley. Born January 8, 1921, in Brockton, a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Horton) Caldwell, she was a 1938 graduate of Brockton High School. Mary was a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. Norman Rosenberg in Brockton. She was devoted to her family and home, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mary was the beloved mother of Carole A. Gale and her husband Henry of Bucksport, Maine and Richard C. Chester S. Shalginewicz, 53, of East Bridgewater, died peacefully Jan. 18, 2009. Native of Brockton, he was graduated from Brockton High School in 1973, earned a Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors from Northeastern University and then a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. For many years Chet was an operations manager for Christy’s Markets and for the past seven years was a field representative for Tedeschi Food Shops.
Chet was a communicant and dedicated volunteer at St. John Church in East Bridgewater.
A proud homeowner, he unselfishly enjoyed caring for his family and their needs, enjoyed cigar smoking and in between watched science fiction shows. Michele J. “Mickey” Hadges , 49, of Sandwich, formerly of Brockton, died Oct. 26, 2008 after a brief illness. A 1977 graduate of Brockton High School, Mickey worked locally in the food and beverage industry for over 25 years. Mickey loved to shop, garden, birdwatch, spend time with her dog Loco, explore Cape Cod natural history and go to the beach.  Andrew M. Talbert Jr., 62, of Canton, MA, died Aug. 22, 2008. Andy was a native of Chicago, Illinois and served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War era in Asia and Europe. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Governor’s State University in Chicago. Andy had resided in Chicago, Baltimore, North Carolina, Vermont, New Hampshire, Washington State, Philadelphia and Columbus, Ohio for 11 years prior to coming to Canton in November of 2006. Employed in health care, he worked for the private sector and was in civil service from 1974-1978 and 1987-1993 when he retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs. He had taught high school and developed substance abuse treatment and back-to-work skills programs in past years and was in private consulting. While in Columbus, Ohio, he was a past president of Rotary and member American College of Health Care Executives. He had volunteered for hospice programs while in Philadelphia and Columbus. Andy enjoyed reading, playing poker and dominoes, cooking and fishing and was learning to play guitar and speak Spanish. He was the beloved husband of Judith for 33 years, loving father of Jennifer & her husband Robert Hawk of Philadelphia, kind master of G’Kar, brother of John Weston & Philip Talbert of Alabama, brother-in-law of Lisa & Russell Mondy of Elk Grove, CA, dear nephew of Barbara Sherrod of Battle Creek, MI, uncle & cousin of many and a longtime friend of Bill W. Richard J. Duarte, 40, lifelong of Brockton, died unexpectedly August 12, 2008.
He was a member of Sheetmetal Workers Union Local 17. Rick was a black belt in karate and was an instructor locally. He loved sports, fishing and playing golf.

Maria L. (Nelson) Belcher, 66, of Kingston, formerly of Brockton, died on April 17, 2008. Native of Dorchester, she was a caring daughter to her late parents, Russell and Katherine (Cronin) Nelson of Braintree. She resided in Brockton for over 30 years where she was a true homemaker, raising her three sons and enjoying her home, gardening and great cooking, especially Sunday dinners. Despite lifelong health issues, Maria was a hard-working and generous person who put others first and she was an animal lover. Maria was the devoted wife for 51 years of John J. “Bubba” Belcher, a retired Braintree police officer, the loving and beloved mother of John J. Belcher Jr. and James R. Katherine A. “Kay” (Danksewicz) Waitt, 85, of Brockton, was born on March 4, 1923 and died July 5, 2008. Native of Abington, she was a 1940 graduate of Abington High School where she was captain of the girls’ basketball team. Married to Edward J. Waitt since July 12, 1942, she assisted him at Waitt Funeral Home for many years. Kay was active in women’s clubs and St. Casimir School and Church activities, took community school courses and enjoyed many crafts until becoming blind. Kay was the loving mother of Ed Waitt Jr. M.D. (and Cathy) of New Orleans, Ken Waitt (and Jean) of Hanover, Jan (and Steve Schlerf) of New Hampshire and Lisa (and Greg Belcher) of West Bridgewater and the late Christine Rose; and beloved grandmother of Ted Waitt, John and Mike Schlerf and Ryan and Julie Belcher. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 2-6 p.m.
