William P. Malone, 71, of N. Easton, died August 16, 2016. Native of Mission Hill, son of the late Thomas and Anastasia (Bransfield) Malone, he was a high school graduate there and the star running back on the football team. He had served in the National Guard. William was former co-owner of Marlboro Market on Mass. Ave. in Back Bay, Boston with his brother Tom. A member of The Easton Lions Club, he loved traveling and reading, and enjoyed playing golf and racquetball in former years. He was a daily communicant of Holy Cross and Immaculate Conception Churches in Easton. William was the beloved husband of Katerina “Kathy” (Raptis) Malone for 30 years; loving father of William P. Malone II and his wife Olga of W. Roxbury, Michael D. Malone of Los Angeles, David J. Malone (and Eva Richardson) of N. Easton, Niki Giakoumakis (and Brian Brendza) of Westlake, OH and Maria Giakoumakis (and Paul Foden) of Windham, NH; devoted grandfather of Liam, Juliet, Anderson, Amelia and Ty Malone, Madelyn, Christopher, Olivia and Eleni Salveter, Addison and Vincent Foden, and two more on the way; brother of Thomas Malone (and Emily Flynn) of Peabody, Kay Greatorex of Walpole, Rita Malone of Norwood, Geraldine Malone of Arlington, Patsy Malone of Lacey, WA and the late John “Jack” Malone; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Friday at 8:45 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., N. Easton and burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston, 51 Sleeper Street, Boston, MA 02210.
