William E. Hopkins Sr.

William E. “Hoppy” Hopkins Sr., 77, a longtime resident of Brockton, recently of Wareham, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness on April 11, 2018. He was a member of Union Local 721, and after his retirement was a manager and life member of the Enterprise Club. Hoppy was also a life member of the Conte Club and a former member of the Bertocci Club. A former member of the Hilltop Bowling League, he enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, gardening, and time spent with family and friends. He was “a jack of all trades, master of many.” Hoppy was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (Foster) Hopkins for almost 60 years; loving father of William E. Hopkins Jr. and his wife Nadine of Stoughton, Kimberly Susi and her husband Michael of Wareham, and Denise Carter and her husband Ron of Easton; dear grandfather of Nicole, Meredith and Stephanie Hopkins, Tayla and Nick Carter, and Michael and Jodi Susi; great-grandfather of 5 boys; brother of George E. Hopkins Jr. of Lakeville, Carole Hopkins Balent of S. Carolina, and the late Eleanor Grosso, and Leo, Robert and Kenneth Hopkins; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Sat., April 14th from 3-6 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private committal.
