Walter F. Rowley Jr., 66, passed away March 25, 2017 from complications of pneumonia. He had battled and recovered from esophageal cancer over 12 years ago. A devoted son of the late Walter and Gloria (Palmiero) Rowley, he was a lifelong resident of Brockton and a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1968. He held a heavy equipment operator’s license and worked for Babcock of Needham. Wally served in law enforcement as a City of Brockton police officer then worked at Brockton District Court until retiring due to his health. He was also a dedicated worker for Warren Jewelers and a registered apprentice at Waitt Funeral Home for many years. He enjoyed New England sports, casinos, cooking, fishing and mushrooming. Wally was the proud father of Walter F. Rowley III (and Maria) of Florida with whom he shared a special bond; loving grandfather of Anthony, Lexy and Daniel; beloved brother of Larry Rowley and his wife Bette of Brockton and his loving sister Marie E. Albert and her husband Bob of Raynham; close uncle of Brett Albert and his wife Laura of Bridgewater and Brooke Schlittler and her husband Michael of Walpole; great-uncle of Cole, Kailey and Jake; best friend and companion of Theresa; and loyal friend to many. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
