Virginia G. (Anderson) Tibbetts, 86, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died peacefully May 4, 2017 surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Beatrice and George Anderson, she was a graduate of Brockton High School. She was a member of U.S. Figure Skating Association and an instructor at Asiaf Rink and other area rinks and a former Miss Roll-land. She was retired from Sears in Brockton. She was a member of Christ Congregational Church, U.C.C. and Brockton Council on Aging, an avid bingo and card player and a former den leader for Cub Scouts; she loved animals. Virginia was the wife of the late Ronald F. Tibbetts; beloved mother of Mark Tibbetts (and Laura) of Raynham, Luanne Hanley (and Tom) of Brockton, Danny Tibbetts (and Francine O’Connell) of Raynham, Brenda Butler (and William) of Brockton, Carol Maloney (and William) of Brockton and John Tibbetts (and Charlene) of East Bridgewater; loving grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 4; sister of Beatrice Gray and the late Raymond Anderson; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, her funeral Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Animal Protection Center of SE Mass., 1300 West Elm St. Ext. Brockton MA 02301.
