Sylvia A. Holmes, 58, of Taunton, passed away on May 26, 2017. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Roland E. and Erika (Renner) Holmes. Sylvia had worked for New England Telephone/Verizon for over 30 years until her retirement. Spiritual and loving, she enjoyed caring for plants and animals, and was an artist. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family. Sylvia was the beloved mother of Joshua J. DeCarlo (and his girlfriend Lauren) of Taunton; loving sister of Alan J. Holmes of Hanson; and a dear aunt of John Holmes and Michael Holmes. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Friday, June 2nd from 4-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private committal.
