Miss Sarah Elizabeth George, 94, a lifelong resident of West Bridgewater, passed into eternal rest on Sept. 17, 2016 at Life Care Center there. Sarah was born on Dec. 25, 1921 to David and Annie George. She graduated from West Bridgewater High School in 1939 and from Williams Business School in Brockton. During her lifetime she worked in Brockton at London Clothing, McCarthy’s Dept. Store, Kay Jewelers for 16 years and was retired from Shawmut Bank after 25 years there. Sarah was an active communicant of St. Ann’s Church where she served on the Parish Council, as an usher, in the choir and as a Bingo volunteer; she enjoyed helping people.

   Sarah leaves one sister Anfrey Phillips (age 100) of Braintree and was predeceased by her siblings Lila George, George George, Louis George, Rachel Elias, Fannie Hatch and Della Kashan; she also leaves many nieces and nephews of several generations. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours Wednesday 5:30-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, her funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Thursday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 103 N. Main St., West Bridgewater and burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Ann’s Church, 103 N. Main St., PO Box 427, W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
