Russell Bradford “Brad” Hurd, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Easton, passed away on Nov. 27, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. He was born on March 23rd in Brockton to Russell Hurd and Ruth Draper (Collier) Hurd-Whynot. Brad graduated from Boston Trade School. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elmer Whynot; his wife of 43 years Dorothy (Orchard) Hurd; his daughter-in-law Pamela Hurd; his daughter Linda S. Hurd and his grandson Jake MacDonnell. Brad owned Spark Street Auto Body in Brockton for over 50 years. He was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Brockton, MA where he served as a trustee. Brad was a long time member of Rotary International, serving as President of the Easton chapter; he was named a Paul Harris Fellow and was also a member of the Brockton chapter. He was a member of the West Charlotte Republican Club, Englewood Rotary and Rotonda Elks. Brad was an avid NASCAR fan and Harley Davidson motorcycle rider. He spent many summers and winters at his vacation cottage in Northwood, NH. He was also an active member of The First Baptist Church of Boca Grande, where he served as head usher. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla (Douzanis) Hurd and his children; Bruce Hurd of Raynham; Brenda Peterson and her husband Mark of Raynham and Lisa Rollo and her husband Edward of Taunton; his seven grandsons: Sean Hurd and his wife Erin of Stoughton; Bret Hurd and his wife Lindsay of Raynham; Stephen Peterson and his fiancee Chelsea Schlossberg of Bridgewater; Matthew Minkin and his companion Candice Leblanc of Rehoboth; Patrick Minkin and his companion Melissa Carpenter of Mansfield; Ryan Rollo and Justin Rollo, both of Taunton.
