Rosatil Cherie, 91, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2018. Born in Fonds-Verrettes, Haiti, he was the son of the late Cherigene Chery and Rosermite Derisier. A strong, yet gentle and calm man, he was devoted to raising his family. Rosatil was a hardworking, skilled farmer; cultivating many crops for his family and community. He was a peacemaker and well loved by all who knew him. Rosatil was the beloved husband of Velanie Volcy for 57 years; loving father of Marie Enide Cherie of Haiti and her husband Okel Morantus , Marie Lucize Cherie of Mattapan and her husband Jean Max Mathieu, Jean Rosnord Cherie of Haiti, Jude Cherie of Brockton and his wife Beatrice Jeudy, Nobertha Cherie of Florida, Claudel Cherie of Haiti, and Castel Cherie of Haiti and his wife Eugenie Ciceron; grandfather of Nickerson Morantus, Kerlens Morantus, Karl Okens Morantus, Brittney Cherie, Jude-Jamar Cherie, Velandie Cherie, Rosardson Cherie, Sarah Rose, Christelle Cherie, Lens Dorleus, Judes Dorleus, and Noberto Dorleus. Rosatil also leaves many extended family and friends. All are welcome to his exposition on Friday, April 6th from 6-9 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Mass Saturday, April 7th at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
