Rosa M. Fontes, 85, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015. Born in Cova Figueira, Fogo, Cabo Verde, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Socoro Fontes and Helena Monteiro Fontes. Rosa was the wife of the late Ramino Gomes; beloved mother of Freme, Paduca, Ana, Nhonho, Alice, Clarinda and Bebe; grandmother of 20; and a great-grandmother of 12. Rosa also leaves many extended family and friends. A well regarded wedding planner, she was known as the best cook in Fogo and would make beautiful wedding cakes. Rosa enjoyed sewing, dancing, baking and reading. She was devoted to her faith and would attend church 4 times a week.  All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral service Monday at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
