Marjorie (Kolb) Shurtleff, 99, of West Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017. Born in Escanaba, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Vernon G. and Elsie E. (Sorenson) Kolb. Marjorie loved to devote her time to others, volunteering at the Good Samaritan Medical Center gift shop for 10 years, and running a youth bowling league for 15 years at Westgate Lanes. An avid bowler and golfer, she enjoyed gardening and cross-country skiing in previous years. Her wit, strength and love for her family were unparalleled and she will be deeply missed. Marjorie was the wife of the late Jason W. Shurtleff; beloved mother of Christine S. Giovannello and her husband Robert of Brockton, and the late J. Dean Shurtleff; loving grandmother of Laura Strangis and her wife Krystle of West Bridgewater, and Sofia Giovannello and her fiancé Daniel Litton of Brockton; sister of Helen Davies of Charlotte, N.C. and the late Robert Kolb, Betty LaPlante and Vernon Kolb Jr.; sister-in-law of Mavis Kolb of New Jersey; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
