Loretta A. (Petrie) Connolly, 83, of Avon since 1962, native of Roxbury, passed away Nov. 27, 2017 at home on hospice surrounded by family. Devoted to her family and home, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing bingo, traveling, and spending winters in the Florida Keys. Loretta was the wife of the late Francis J. Connolly; beloved mother of Francis J. Connolly Jr. (and Christine), John M. Connolly and Patti-Anne Conley (and Thomas), all of Avon, James E. Connolly (and Diane Avery) of Brockton and Dianne Peterson (and James) of Plymouth; grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 1; sister of the late Mary Walsh, Gloria Murray, Theda Ralli, John Petrie and Margaret Cunningham; and an aunt of many. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Friday at 9 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, both in Avon.
