Irene M. (Carney) Wilson, 72, of Brockton, died February 5, 2016 at home surrounded by family, after a brave battle against breast cancer. She retired from Maple Alleys as a manager after 22 years there, and was formerly a school bus and Dial-A-Bat driver. She had previously done volunteer work at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Irene was the beloved wife of William A. “Woody” Wilson Jr. for 51 years; loving mother of William F. Wilson and his wife Hermine Inks of Fayetteville, NC, Mark Wilson of Taunton, Steven Wilson and his wife Mellissa of Brockton, and Darby-Lynne Perkins and her husband Frederick of Taunton; devoted grandmother of Jane-Ann, Steven, Jace, William, Hermine, Abigail and Jacob; great-grandmother of John George; sister of Les Carney of FL, Judith LaChance of Brockton, Walter Carney of FL and William Buckley of Holbrook; an aunt of many nieces and nephews; and a loving friend to many. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
