Aunt Get they called you Candy for an reason. Sweet as pie gentle in heart, calm in speaking. You always had an way about you, to keep the peace. Saying if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. I remember as a little girl you gave me my first collective dolls. You where in Spain with Uncle Larry. When I came over to your house. I saw that amazing dolls she was dressed in an Yellow and black dress and he the bull fighter was dressed in black. I was so amazed at there beauty. You gave them to me. I've had those dolls for along time until my adult life. You placed a smile on my face as well as my soul! That will forever live until we meet again. Kiss my Nana, Uncle Donald, cousin Cheryl, Aunt Irene, Uncle Ray, Uncle Billy, Uncle Arnold, Uncle Oscar, Aunt Dot, Aunt Phyllis and my little Big Brother Lo the Pro and many more that I haven't named.

You all are gone from the earth but you all are forever in our hearts! I thank God for giving you life and you being a part of our family. To my family I Love You all one by one each of you. My heart is in Beantown as you lay auntie to rest. Love on each other. Because today is not promised to any of us!

To the family of Gretchen, my prayer are with you all. You have lost a gem "a diamond she was". I learned a lot from Ms. Gretchen during her time with the City of Boston.. I was a teenager and she was my first boss/supervisor. She was a great woman and I will never forgot the wisdom that I receive from her regarding work and personal matters. She is gone from this earth, but will never be forgot by me. She will always be in my heart! Rest In Peace, Lovely Lady

We all were saddened to hear this news of our beloved sister, and my former wife who has transitioned into, "the Kingdom of Light." Gretchen and I have remained in contact but not having seen her in a long time, it is amazing, the depth of heart felt feelings that are resurrected by our "shared" memories.

With Gretchen, I was blessed with an extended family of Children, though biologically we had none. David, Kim, Debbie, *Troy, Deric, Wendy, Lloyd, Fred, Dina, Sonyia and *Daryl. I'm counting down in the hope to see you, once again. I too share the thoughts that many so eloquently stated about Gretchen Laurice Johnson-Hester. Yes our hearts are again saddened by a loss yet bolstered by the fact that knowingly we have crossed each's paths and have had some impact on a life worth mentioning that was destined and started decades ago.

Not being situated in Boston and hearing of yet another fallen can at times be overwhelming. To all of you my brothers and sisters you all are remembered too as I send up a prayer for my departed Gretchen and those within our circle that preceded her. Let's unite as a body, cast aside our differences let's make Gretchen's blessed life not be in vain. Your sisters-in-law: Shirley, Reese and Yvonne also have been truly Blessed as "family"

Be not afraid for as is said in the 23rd Psalms as you have been led up Yonder to the Mansion with many rooms, preparing for us. To the entire collection of family and friends, near and far there are heavy hearts no doubt. Prayers for the entire family and us all, as God called home one of our precious angels. Rest assured that there were no "Change of Plans" I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (Romans 1:13).

Like Paul we may have disappointments about plans gone a rye, but rest assured our imperfect plans are perfect with God. God’s timing and methods are not always the ones of our choosing, but they are always perfect. Eternal God, You hold today and all my tomorrows in Your hands. I confess I don’t understand when You say “no” or “not yet.” But I trust You to perform Your perfect work in my life at just the right time.

Making the call for a home gathering rather than a home going which is to be on our terms almost paramount and more sooner than later, as seemingly we have more years behind us that are before us. May God bless you. An individual has not started living until he/she can rise above the narrow confines of his/her individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity. Choose you this day whom ye will serve; and you with my heartfelt feelings are reminded "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:2, 15).
