Gertrude Jean-Baptiste, 82, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017. Born in Fond-Parisien, Haiti, she immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1975, before moving to Brockton in 2006. Generous and loving, not only did she work hard to support her own family, she would extend her generosity to many others, sending money to Haiti whenever possible. Gertrude was the beloved mother of Jean-Claude Jean and his wife Ruth of Brockton and Michel-Lozane Batista of Florida; loving grandmother of 9. Gertrude also leaves many dear extended family in New York, Florida and Haiti. All are welcome to her funeral service on Tuesday, August 29th at 10:30 a.m. in Brockton Tabernacle Church, 690 North Main St. Exposition in the church prior from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Melrose Cemetery.
