Gary H. Croteau, 75, of Brockton since 1983, passed away at home on hospice with family by his side Dec. 8, 2017. Native of Madison, Maine, he graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam, specializing in radar interception. After his 20-year military career he was an installing contractor of international weather systems for Titan. Gary enjoyed computers, reading, home carpentry and road trips. He was the beloved husband of Darlene Sheppard Croteau for 41 years; they met in San Diego at a Navy party where she attended college and married a short time later. He was the loving father of Catherine “Caty” Croteau-Pinney and her husband Christopher Pinney of Brockton with whom Gary shared many years of close family friendship. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-7 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. Time of Remembrance in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Cremation and pivate committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis MA 02601.
