Emilia F. (Fernandes) Miranda, 103, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016. She was a native of Fogo, Cabo Verde. She was devoted to her home and family and was an exceptional cook. Caring and generous, she taught her children to always share what they had, no matter how big or small, even if it was just a cup of coffee. Emilia was the wife of the late Quintiliano Miranda; beloved mother of Manuel Miranda of Brockton, Gil Miranda of Boston, Alda DaVeiga of France, Laura Gomes of Taunton, Joao Miranda of Boston, Jose Orlando Miranda of Cabo Verde and Antonio Miranda of Cabo Verde; loving grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Emilia also leaves many dear extended family and friends. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 5-9 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Thursday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
