Edward A. McBride, 86, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a cryptographer and weatherman during the Korean War and was an award-winning salesman and district manager for Pebsco/Nationwide. Edward was the husband of the late Jacqueline D. (Hogan) McBride for 60 years; beloved father of Dawn McBride of Easton, Edward “Butch” McBride and his wife Helen of Bridgewater, Ann M. Quinlan of Brockton, and William J. McBride Sr. and his wife Jennifer of Northport FL; loving grandfather of Corey and Ashley Quinlan, Jeffrey (and his wife Teresa), Lauren and Alex Vaccaro, William J. McBride Jr., Christian Schafer, Chris Childs (and his wife Brooke), and Alyssa McBride; great-grandfather of Connor and Abby Childs and Ariana Sanchez; brother of Bea Lahey of Stoughton and the late John “Jack” McBride and his widow Patricia of Hull and the late Marie MacLean; brother-in-law of Patricia A. (Hogan) Crowley of Fairhaven and the late Richard T. Crowley Jr. and the late Helen (Hogan) Bougopoulos and Charles Bougopoulos; and a dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday (May 31) 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Thursday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
