Dorothy M. (Johnson) Spagna, 90, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2017. She was retired as a loan officer after 30 years at Shawmut Bank in Brockton. Dorothy was a member of VFW Post 1046 Ladies Auxiliary, 20th Century Catholic Club, Knights of Lithuania, and St. Casimir Church. She enjoyed bowling with Westgate Lanes Senior League, music, singing and playing piano, reading, gardening and animals. Dorothy was the wife of the late Frank A. Spagna; beloved mother of Maryann Spagna of Brockton; dear sister of Margery DaSilva (and Orlando) of West Yarmouth, Marilyn Yesonis of Brockton and the late Regina Garnier and Thomas Johnson; sister-in-law of Mildred Woodworth, Peter Spagna, and the late Mary Barbara Sampson, Grace Schmidt, Rocco Spagna, Lorraine Leonard, Rose Marie MacPherson, Paul Spagna and William Spagna; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews including 2 godchildren. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, both in Avon.
