Clare M. (Flaherty) MacFarland, 84, of Leisurewoods in Rockland, passed away peacefully Oct. 16, 2016. For 50 years she was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton as an emergency room coordinator. She was an active communicant and a Eucharistic minister at St. Edward’s Church in Brockton. Clare was the wife of the late Robert W. MacFarland; beloved mother of Robert W. MacFarland and his wife Karen of Lakeville and the late Susan L. Gauthier and her widower Laurence R. Gauthier of Rockland; loving grandmother of Jason L. Gauthier of Wakefield, Laurence R. Gauthier and his wife Amanda of Stoughton, Bryan J. Gauthier of Florida, Kara M. MacFarland and Elizabeth C. MacFarland of Lakeville; dear great-grandmother of Addison, Henry and Aurora Gauthier; sister of Mary, Kathy, Arlene, Pat, Barbara, Tom and Joe and the late Buddy Flaherty and Catherine St. Clare; and an aunt of many. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Thursday from Waitt Funeral Home at 8 a.m., funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Parish and burial at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
