Claire Glancy-Foley, 57, of Brockton for 25 years, passed away June 10, 2017. A native of Roslindale, she graduated from high school there and later attended Massachusetts College of Arts. Claire resided in California for a few years and upon returning, met John J. "Jay" Foley and they married in 1985. She drove special needs students for Boston Public Schools, then drove for Beantown Trolley Tours. Claire later worked as a teacher’s assistant for Avon Kindergarten until her retirement. An avid reader, she enjoyed music, teaching children and the ocean. Claire was the beloved wife of John J. Foley (Boston F.D.) for 32 years; loving mother of Sean Foley and Lucas Foley, both of Brockton, and Jessie Foley of Avon; devoted Nana of Hannah Elizabeth Foley; dear sister of Jeanne Cartwright of Avon, Donna Girard (and Dennis) of N.C., Joan Griffin of Avon and Janet Rosa (and William) of Dedham; and a niece, aunt, and cousin of many. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Friday 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
