Brian W. Kennedy, 57, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home Nov. 20, 2015 with family by his side after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. A son of the late Marion (Purdy) Kennedy and William Kennedy, he graduated from Brockton High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps all over the world for 3 years. After working at St. Joseph Manor and Hit or Miss warehouse Brian began his life’s career as a correctional officer at M.C.I. Cedar Junction in Walpole for over 28 years. He loved the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox, vacationed in Marshfield at Brant Rock where he enjoyed collecting sea glass, and was a member of Club National. Brian was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Hutchinson) Kennedy for 31 years; loving father of Brian A. Kennedy and his fiancée Christine Bilotas of Norton; brother of Lynne Lucas and William Kennedy of Florida, Steven Kennedy of Arizona and the late Kevin Kennedy; brother-in-law of the Hutchinson family: Joe and Marilyn, Kelly and Steve, and the late Mark and Patti and Daniel; and a devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews.
