Alexander R. “Sandy” Hall, 70, of Brockton, passed away suddenly on August 17, 2017 after being stricken at home. Born in Tillicoultry, Scotland, he was the son of the late Liz and Harry Hall. Educated at Tillicoultry Primary School, Alloa Academy and Edinburgh College of Commerce, he worked for a local newspaper before leaving Scotland. Sandy met his wife Christina on the S.S. Canberra, where he was a photographer, and through his work, was able to visit over 50 countries. He worked as a photographer for the VA Hospital for 21 years, until his retirement in 2001. A founding member and former president of BYSA, he enjoyed playing league soccer. Sandy was a member and past president of Tam O’Shanter Scottish Highland Games and Festival. He was a longtime member of Paul Revere Lodge of Freemasons. A fan of Robert Burns and his work, he took great interest in the history and culture of Scotland, carrying the love of his homeland with him throughout his life. Sandy was the beloved husband of Christina M. (Tautkus) Hall for 43 years; loving father of Scott Hall of Brockton and Kirsty Disipio of Hyde Park; grandfather of 3; brother of Evelyn Todd and her husband Jim of Alloa, Scotland. He was an uncle and cousin of many in Scotland. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Wed., Aug. 30th from 5-7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
